"MASTER OF ARTS" (MA)

SPECIALIZED MIDDLE-TERM PROGRAM "MASTER OF ARTS" (MA) (program of professional retraining)

At present not only MBA programs but middle-term MA and MSc programs, conforming to western standards are in demand on the market of business education. They make it possible for specialists to get the more extended and profound study of specialized subjects than that of the MBA programs, designed for top-managers of general profile. Too "academic" names "Master of Arts" and "Master of Science" should not frighten business people. Eventually Russia will come to a civilized market. Doing Business in the conditions of the civilized market is science. And we are going to teach our students this science.

The Higher Commercial Management School offers programs of professional retraining conforming to western standards of business education MA ("Master of Arts"). These programs have been worked out in cooperation with the European Institute of International Management (IEMI, Paris). In distinction from MBA programs for which the industrial experience of not less than 1,5-2 years is required and the instruction lasts not less than 1,5-2 years in accordance with the Russian and western standards, MA programs enable students to get and extend special knowledge directly upon completion of the first higher education. These programs are of more specialized character and they can be of use to managers of any level who wish to gain profound knowledge in any business field.

If the students of these programs come to the conclusion while the learning process is taking place, that their mission is the career of a leader, they can continue studies on the modular form of the MBA program in accordance with their individual curricula. The subjects covered while studying the "Master of Arts" program can be accepted.

Thus the HCMS MA programs are a specialized part of the MBA program and can be considered as the first stage on the way to MBA.

Realization of the program
