EUROQUALIFICATIONS (EQ)

For whom are these programs designed and what opportunities do they open?

These programs have been developed by the LCCI jointly with the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Chambers of Commerce of Germany specifically to meet the needs of the European business community and to help promote the mobility of labour. The aim of the program is to prepare specialists possessing bilingual business communication skills and sufficient knowledge of business basics.

The program consists of three modules, each including its own set of compulsory and optional subjects. Examinations are held separately and for each successful examination an adequate certificate is issued.

After passing the whole set of examinations during the period not exceeding two years learners receive the so-called group awards.

The first module "Commercial Language Assistant Certificate" (CLAC) is designed for secretaries, shorthand writers, filing clerks, office-managers, assistants to managers, staff personnel, junior managers etc.

The following compulsory programs constitute this module:
1. Spoken English for Industry and Commerce (see SEFIC-2) - 2nd level - 150 learning hours
2. English for Business (see EFB-2) - 2nd level - 100 learning hours
3. Practical Computing (1st level). At this examination it is necessary to fulfill two sets of tasks
out of given four ones (options): practical word processing, electronic sheets, database, presentation graphics - 50 learning hours.

The cost of examinations:
SEFIC(2) - $155
EFB(2) - $70
PC(1) - $40
Optional examination is telephoning - $50
Group certificate (CLAC) - $60

The second module "European Executive Assistant Certificate" (EEAC) is designed for translators and interpreters working during meetings, talks, presentations, preparing all sorts of necessary business documents as well as for middle management.

This module includes:
1. Spoken English for Industry and Commerce (SEFIC-3) - 150 learning hours
2. English for Business (EFB-3) - 100 learning hours
3. Practical Computing (2nd level). The tasks are similar to those of the 1st level but more complicated - 50 learning hours
4. European Union (written). This program is devoted to the European Union (structure and organizations, history, development, member-countries) -30 learning hours

The cost of examinations:
SEFIC(3) - $180
EFB(3) - $80
PC(2) - $45
EU(3) - $50
Optional examination - Telephoning - $50
Group certificate EEAC - $60

The third module is Diploma in European Business Administration (DEBA)

This program is designed for directors of enterprises, top-managers of companies, associations, joint stock societies, joint ventures, fro the employees of international bodies, office translators and interpreters fully proficient in two languages (native and foreign).

The compulsory element consists of:
1. Spoken English for Industry and Commerce (SEFIC-4) - 150 learning hours
2. English for Business (EFB-4) - 100 learning hours
3. European Union and a topical project paper on the European Union - 50 learning hours
4. Principles and practice of management - 50 learning hours. This examination can be accepted as an exemption from the HCMS program "Management" in English or in Russian.

SEFIC(4) - $200
EFB-4 - $90
EU-3 - $50
Principles and practice of management - $50
Optional subjects: telephoning, liaison interpreting, practical computing - $50
Group certificate - $60

All modules of the whole program EQ can be fulfilled in the regime of the medium-term course (300-350 learning hours).

The cost of one learning hour in a group of six - is $6.

The cost of one learning hour for individual (one-to-one) classes - is stipulated by the contact.

The cost of one learning hour in a special business subject is $10

Discounts are granted to HCMS students of MBA and DBA programs.
